Water is one of the most important factors in the life of human beings to sustain. Without water, it is not possible to eat, cook, or wash things. Our earth too covers major part with water. It is said that, one should drink water as much as they can to keep the digestion system proper and avoid diseases but there are some dangerous diseases that attack our body by water, such diseases are known as water borne disease.
Water borne diseases are one of the world’s most dangerous diseases. These diseases are caused by consuming fresh contaminated water. Some common water borne diseases are malaria, typhoid, cholera, dengue, and hepatitis A. Such waterborne diseases can infect people and make them ill. One should take severe precaution from such hazardous diseases.
Studies say that a high number of human deaths are due to such waterborne diseases. Sometimes it can be controlled and sometimes it takes the life of the individual suffering from any of this disease. These diseases are opening their jaws all over the world globally. The problems of waterborne diseases are mostly witnessed in the developing countries and increasing each day. Some important precautions can help us avoiding these waterborne diseases affect your body.
Firstly, we should boil the water and drink. Boiling the water kills all the germs in it and purifies it for drinking. Boiled water does not carry any germs in it. Currently there are loads of water purifiers in market that can also help for the same. Drink water after purifying it can be one of the greatest solutions and avoiding waterborne diseases.
Other thing that can help is to keep our immunity power high, so that such diseases could not harm us in any way and our energy generated by food can fight with them. For this, we need to have healthy food. Healthy food will generate energy in our body and keep these germs away from touching us.
We should also chew our food properly so that it digests soon and add up in our energy level. Eating food fast is nothing but just wastage of food. It can also result in vomiting, stomachache, and other stomach problems. Therefore, one should remember chewing one bite at least 32 times to make the food dissolve finely.
Avoid drinking water from open taps or used bottles. Only prefer packaged water bottle for drinking water that will keep you safe and hygienic. Not only water but also these safety measures should be practiced in drinking any kind of liquids like juices, milk, shakes, cold drinks, etc.
We should also wash our hands frequently and regularly to be safe from waterborne diseases. Such diseases are contagious and hence adequate precautions should be applied. The most important measure should be taken by the government to keep the reservoirs and water storage places hygienic, which are not done.
We should also avoid polluting the seawater as much as we can as those water is used for drinking and from somewhere our dirt is consumed by us. Keeping a check on water pollution can decrease the risk of waterborne diseases to a great extent.

This is a Guest Post from our friend, Sharon Hurley Hall.
Most people know that medical professionals recommend that you drink about eight glasses of water each day. It can be difficult to transition from a habit of soft drinks to water but when adults know the health benefits and the weight loss benefits, it is something that can be done once you put your mind to it. But are you encouraging your kids to adopt the same healthy habit?
How do you get your kids to drink more water? Kids love flavour and prefer milk and juice. Starting habits early is the best approach but if you’ve already got a scenario on your hands where your child balks at anything but juice, soft drinks, or sports drinks, it might be time to get strategic about it.
Making drinking water a part of your childrens’ day will make vast differences in several areas such as: oral health, healthy weight, and good habits that could last a lifetime. Here are some strategies for getting your kids to drink more water:
Serve It
Instead of giving them a choice of beverages, make it a habit to serve a pitcher of water or bottles of water at each meal. Bring water on car trips and to sports events. The more often it’s available as the only choice, the more likely kids will get accustomed to it (and stop complaining about it).
Dilution
Have you got kids who turn their nose up at water and won’t drink anything but juice? You can wean your kids off their sugary beverage addiction by diluting the juice. Adding more water than juice and increasing the ratio over time might mean that your kids get accustomed to the lack of sugar, which is helpful with smaller kids. For older kids, you can also simply tell them that you’ll just stop buying juice and sports drinks altogether unless you see a better ratio of water being drank.
Family Challenges
Why not start a family health challenge to encourage everyone to drink more water? Family challenges can empower everyone and a bit of friendly competition can be a great tool to get kids to embrace doing something healthy. Incorporate fitness, healthy eating, and increasing water intake and come up with creative ways to measure and reward everyone that participates.
Drinking enough water is one of the best things you can do for your health and for the health of your kids. What might start off as a challenging thing to accomplish in your household could wind up being a habit that lasts well into adulthood.

Combine Sharon’s advise with clean and purified water from a Tyent water ionizer. For normal everyday drinking water you can also try an imperial Berkey water purifier.
We have a great example of this: the Tyent UCE-9000 Water Ionizer has a fantastic interface inspired by the Apple iPhone. This is without a doubt, the easiest to use appliance you will have in your kitchen.

Like many of you, I am visiting family this holiday season and nowhere does gadget snobbery become more apparent than during gatherings with loved ones. Aside from the ubiquitous “Whose phone is faster?” question, which in my case led to an email race at Christmas dinner, there is endless potential for the marginally tech savvy to show off during the holidays.
But all the superiority gleaned from being able to load non-iTunes purchases into your mom’s iPod is tossed out the window when Continue reading »
We are seriously excited about the new SteriPEN Sidewinder that was shown at the European Outdoor Show a couple weeks ago, and will be shown this week at the Outdoor Retailer Show.
We have talked before about how SteriPEN water purifiers protect hikers, campers, and travelers from waterborne viruses and bacteria. They all work in a very similar fashion: The user puts the bulb end of the SteriPEN into a bottle of water they wish to purify. The bulb activates, killing all the bad stuff, and the water is safe to drink in just a few moments. To power a SteriPEN, you use either AA or CR123A batteries… until now. Continue reading »
There really is nothing more fundamental to our health than water, so let me ask you this very simple question. How much actual water do you drink? I’ve just been told that my water requirement, given not too much exercise, normal environment, should be about 3 liters a day. That’s about thirteen and a half glasses. Given that, on average we spend eight hours each day asleep, that works out on average to about 1 glass of water every hour. I don’t know about you, but my intake’s not even close. Worse still, that’s just me. At 3 liters a day, my household of five should consume 105 liters, 28 gallons of water every week or 1442 gallons in a year. That’s a lot of water, so the next question clearly is where should I get it? Continue reading »
